I made the cut! My article "SAGA Do's and Don'ts" was published, along with some of my SAGA painting. It's an honor & pleasure to be published! Time for a beer or two to celebrate. This is the weekend after all! Millsy and his mates have done a fabulous job so again download your PDF copy here.
About the blog going cold...I've been struggling with my vision a bit. I sit in front of a PC all day at work. At night, I blog, surf and paint for hours on end. It's little wonder that I earned myself a really bad case of eye strain. I cut way back on my screen-time and painting this summer to turn it around.
No worries! Even at a much reduced rate of painting, I finished Byzantines in time for a SAGA campaign and I have Russians for Bolt Action under way. This bump is a reminder that I'm not bulletproof and that balance in life is important. Lesson learned!
A fine article too Monty..
ReplyDeleteThanks Dave!
DeleteI enjoyed your article - lots of sensible points there.
ReplyDeleteThanks Edwin!
DeleteCongratulations again my friend!
ReplyDeleteJust got my blog underway again after being down since May as well. Eye problems were part of it, but for different reasons than yours. Things are looking up for the fall. :)
Thanks Jason! Ok, now I need to check in and see what your issue is.
DeleteBig thing has been allergies. (Around May & Aug) This causes crap to constantly build up in my eyes causing blurriness and double vision. The other is that I need a new prescription. I can actually see my figures (a little) better without my glasses on. :(
DeleteCongratulations, Monty! I will have to peruse the article, as well as the rest of the quarterly. Been in a painting slump myself.
ReplyDeleteThanks Dean. There is a wonderful article about kids playing Napoleonics. It warms my heart to see the torch being passed to the next generation!
DeleteWell done Monty!
ReplyDeleteBalance in all things. Eyes for painting and gaming...voice to text for blogging. I'm a problem solver, I solve problems. :D
Seriously though, good to see you on the mend and the new post.
That is brilliant, Jeff. I actually have Dragon Naturally Speaking.
DeleteHey, it's great to hear from you and know you are okay. I was getting a bit worried about you.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on having your article published! When you feel up to it again, we'll be glad to see you post again.
Thanks Anne. I really should have posted up something to say I was resting. A week break becomes a month, then 2 and then 3. Time flies by! I don't think I'll be a post a week blogger but I do have some articles queued up.
DeleteI think we're pretty much in the same place Monty. I've only done 10 posts this year and have been away for nearly two months this time.
DeleteI can't see myself ever doing regularly scheduled weekly posts again either.
Well done, Monty!
ReplyDeleteVery happy to confirm rumors of your demise were exaggerated!
Thanks Jonathan! I see you had another vacation of a lifetime. Thanks for sharing.
DeleteMonty, it was a pleasure to publish your work; thanks for allowing us access to your excellent pics as well!
ReplyDeleteThe pleasure is all mine Evan. You, Millsy and the rest are to be commended for putting together such a great product in your free time. I can barely manage a blog so I don't know how you fellows do it!
DeleteIt takes a fair bit of time as you can imagine mate. On the plus side we get to trawl through loads of interesting stuff and make loads of new mates. What's no to like?
DeleteGood to here that your eyed are geting better.
ReplyDeleteIll sure have a look at your article.
Best regards Michael
Thanks Michael! I appreciate it.
DeleteGreat article, good tips, and awesome painting! Grats
ReplyDeleteCheers

Foss! Your article was my very favorite. Well done, and your ships are aces too!
DeleteLovely to hear from you Monty although concerned about the eye strain. Sounds like you are being sensible about it and hopefully back to full health soon. Best wishes.
ReplyDeleteThanks Michael. Your Batman project is off the charts beautiful and fun. We never can guess where Awdry will go next!
DeleteCongrats Monty, high quality!
ReplyDeleteThanks Phil! My son got to stay in Paris for a month this summer and fell in love. One day, he'll return with us in tow!
DeleteI must say that Paris is the best city in the world to fall in love...of course!
DeleteThanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteI download mine
You can be proud
Courage for your eyes
Thanks Marco. It is my own fault. I've always been able to get away with ridiculous hours at the painting table. Going slow is not the end of the world and probably better for me in the end.
Delete;-)
Well done Monty! I shall have to track down a copy.
